Frequently Asked Questions

How long are the worship services?
Our worship services are 75 minutes long.

What should I expect during the typical service?
During every worship service we believe for the Spirit of God to appear and touch the lives of God’s people. We do have a format that includes singing and preaching, receiving an offering and giving people the opportunity to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. People get excited at our services because we worship a truly amazing God. Expect to see lifted hands and jumping around during worship, interaction with the sermon, and sometimes we pray together as a congregation or have people come forward to receive prayer.

Does Winter Haven Worship Center believe I can be forgiven for my bad deeds, no matter what?
Yes. All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God, but God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that anyone who believes in Him should live eternally.

Does Winter Haven Worship Center believe I can “speak in tongues?”
Absolutely! The promise of the Holy Spirit and subsequent speaking in an unknown tongue is a biblical promise to you, your children and your children’s children. *If this is something you don’t understand, a Pastor always stays at the platform after the service to answer questions and offer prayer.

Do you raise your hands during worship services?
Winter Haven Worship Center is a charismatic church and as such, people do express their worship by raising their hands to God but by no means are you obligated to do so if you are not comfortable.

Do you still believe that healing is for today? Can I be healed?
Yes, we believe that healing is still for today. Jesus died on the cross so we could be saved and experience the promises of God here on earth. God’s promises include healing. According to the Word, we access healing through faith in the finished work of Christ.

Does Winter Haven Worship Center believe God creates devastation, kills people and brings hardship into the lives of people for His divine purposes?
Our Scriptures tell us that every good and perfect gift comes from God. It is Satan who steals, kills and destroys. We like to explain it this way: “draw a line down the middle of your life, if it is good- it is God, if it is bad- it is not God!”

Will I be asked to make an offering?
Absolutely not! We will have an offering, but visitors and even members are under no pressure to give. Visitors are encouraged to be our guest and find out who we are before making any financial gift.

Why should people tithe and give offerings to the church?
The principle of tithing (giving 10% of our income) is the scripturally directed process of submitting our material and financial interests to God’s leadership and plan. According to scripture He is central to every facet of our lives, including our finances. Offerings are above and beyond the tithe. They are our way of placing God first in our life.
